ABOUT US

Avalon Associates began serving clients in September 1983. The company is owned by Philip A. Smith who acquired the Planning and Development Division of Crandell Associates, P.C., an architectural firm located in Glens Falls, New York.

Initially, the Planning and Development business firm was established in 1968 to provide a broad range of urban planning, project design, and financing services to public and private clients. We also worked with developers to package public and private financing including equity syndication to build new affordable housing projects.

For nearly 25 years, our work has focused primarily on community development programming and implementation for smaller cities, counties, towns and villages throughout upstate New York. We currently serve various municipalities and nonprofit community organizations in more than 10 counties.
