MAIN STREET
REVITALIZATIONA
new trend in where people are deciding to live has emerged
in recent years. People are moving back to downtowns and
main streets. Some want to be closer to work, others want to
be where the action is, and others would
like smaller places to live. In some communities though, the
downtown has been abandoned for decades, and is not in condition to
attract people to move there.
In creating a Main Street Revitalization program, our
goal is to take advantage of this current trend, by
providing financial incentives for building owners to
renovate and improve their storefronts, commercial space,
and upper floor apartments to attract new investment within
the downtown business district of the community.
